Should I bring my kids?
The whole family, from kids to grandparents, are invited to explore Bethlehem. Please keep an eye on your younger children, there are many people in town all the time. It will be easy for you to become separated from young ones quickly. If you get lost, head for the large tree in the market place, Lost and Found is located there.

Where should I park?
If you plan on attending the Manhattan Beach Journey to Bethlehem, Mira Costa High School has graciously opened up their parking lots accessible immediately adjacent to Artesia Blvd for parking. A short 3 minute walk west up Artesia will get you to the gates located on Tennyson Ave. Please follow the signs. Parking is also available on surrounding streets, though it often fills up fast. We encourage car-pooling to limit the number of parking spots you will require. The line for Journey to Bethlehem can occasionally get long, beginning on Tennyson Avenue and may wrap around the west side of our campus onto Prospect Avenue. We have provided lights on the sidewalk for safety, a safety video to explain to you what you will be experiencing, that also gives you a glimpse into Bethlehem before you get there. NOTE: There is curb-side parking at the gate for vehicles displaying a handicap placard or license plate ONLY. Please let us know if you need assistance in any way. Directions to the Manhattan Beach Journey to Bethlehem can be found by clicking here.

If you plan on attending our Bellflower Journey to Bethlehem, parking is available at Farmer & Merchants’ Bank, located a short three minute walk west of Bethlehem at 3920 Artesia Blvd. Please obey all parking laws, and watch for children crossing the roads. There is overflow parking on the northwest corner of Downey and Artesia Boulevards, in the McDonald’s parking lot. The line for Bellflower’s Journey to Bethlehem will begin on Downey Avenue and wrap South around the corner heading East on Ramona Avenue. You will be able to see a safety video to explain to you what you will be experiencing, that also gives you a glimpse into Bethlehem before you get there. Please let us know if you need assistance in any way. Directions to the Bellflower Journey to Bethlehem can be found by clicking here.

Should I take allergy medicine?
If you are allergic to animals, straw, or dust, you might want to take NON-drowsy allergy medication, starting about a week before. Let your immune system build up early! Also note: The straw is sprayed nightly with a mixture of Downy fabric softener and water. If you are allergic to fabric softener, take your medication. This sprayed mixture greatly reduces the dust from the straw. It does not eliminate it completely.
